The electropneumatic gun 88210xxx was designed and built to be used on different types of machines.
Its design and its versatility makes it suitable for all application requires the use of extrusion guns.
The gun 88210xxx is a provider of low and medium viscosity fluids (up to 2500 mPa.s).
The gun is controlled electronically by a voltage of 24Vdc
The gun 88210xxx is double acting valve, air is used for both the opening and for closing, pneumatically driven through solenoid mounted on the gun.
The gun is composed of: a solenoid, a pin, a nozzle and a compass within which the pin passes.
When the gun is not working, the needle closes the nozzle seat not allowing fluid to leak; when the solenoid is energized the pin is opened allowing the delivery of fluid.
De-energizing the solenoid needle returns to the closed position

What is cold glue?

The cold glue, also called cold glue, is a type of liquid adhesive, generally opaque white color, which is formed by an adhesive part dissolved in water. It can be used for bonding almost all the materials (paper, cardboard, certain types of plastics, wood and derivatives, metals, for building material, etc.) With the exception of those non-stick (eg. PTFE / Teflon and siliconised surfaces) and dirty or greasy surfaces. It is also not suitable for paste 2 both impermeable surfaces, given that bonding occurs only when the water present in the adhesive is completely evaporated, operation impossible if the materials to be bonded are non-absorbent.
The cold glue is known in civil field as glue and can be used in a limited number of bondings.
For the industry there are several families and numerous types of cold glue, suitable for uses of each type and with various levels of viscosity and setting time.

The cold bonding is permanent?

After evaporation of the aqueous part of the adhesive bonding is permanent and irreversible. In critical applications, it is possible to combine a cold bonding with glue to one with hot glue. (See related FAQ).

I have to glue different materials. Can I use a single type of cold glue?

Each type of cold glue has fields of use different sipendenti both by its features, both from the time that the adhesive employs before pasting the 2 parts (based on the amount of water and adhesive characteristics have setting times and different bonding characteristics).

Where should I use cold glue? What are the advantages compared to other adhesive?

The cold glue can be used in all applications where it is necessary a permanent and irreversible bonding of the parts. The low viscosity of the cold glue it also allows the use in applications where it is necessary to deposit of adhesive points of particularly small size or high speed, it being understood that the bonding will be permanent only after the evaporation of the aqueous part of the glue.

What should I do if I wish to make a cold glue system for an extended time?

The cold glue, in contact with the air, it loses the water contained therein and congeals. And ‘good practice to provide the washing of the entire system (adhesive tank, pump, hoses and guns) with lukewarm water in anticipation of prolonged stops (the time is dependent on the type of adhesive used and its viscosity).

Because in some applications it is used a double bonding hot glue + cold glue?

The 2 types of bonding are complementary, in fact the hot-melt adhesive has a short setting time but the bonding may yield when subjected to medium / high temperatures, while the cold glue, while using medium / long setting times, has an irreversible bonding.
In this way the hot glue will ensure bonding the short term even in fast applications, waiting for the cold glue to provide the definitive and irreversible.
